Application
1. The sealing material is a new type of high-performance sealing material, which is a kind of nano-material grown in situ. Compared with traditional sealing materials such as asbestos rubber, it has good compressibility, resilience, self-bonding, low density and other excellent properties, and can be used for a long time under harsh working conditions such as high temperature and high corrosion. The graphite plates and sealing elements produced by it are widely used in aerospace, machinery, electronics, nuclear energy, petrochemical, electric power, shipbuilding, smelting and other industries. Because it has excellent characteristics such as light weight, electrical conductivity, thermal conductivity, high temperature resistance, acid and alkali corrosion resistance, good resilience, lubricity, plasticity and chemical stability, it is known as the "king of sealing" in the world ".
The expandable graphite obtained by high temperature expansion in the field of environmental protection has rich pore structure and excellent adsorption performance, so it has a wide range of uses in environmental protection and biomedicine. The pore structure of expandable graphite has two kinds of open pore and closed pore, the pore volume accounts for about 98%, and the pore size is mainly macroporous, and the pore size distribution range is 1~10.3 nm. Because it is mainly macroporous and mesoporous, it is also different from microporous materials such as activated carbon in adsorption characteristics. It is suitable for liquid phase adsorption, but not for gas phase adsorption. It is lipophilic and hydrophobic in liquid phase adsorption. 1 g of expandable graphite can absorb more than 80 g of heavy oil, so it is a promising environmental protection material to remove water surface oil pollution. In the wastewater treatment of chemical enterprises, microorganisms (bacteria) are often used. Expandable graphite is a good microbial carrier, especially in the water treatment of oil and fat organic macromolecules, because of its good chemical stability and renewable reuse, it has a good application prospect.
Due to the adsorption characteristics of expandable graphite to organic and biological macromolecules, it has a wide range of applications in biomedical materials.
4. High-energy battery material Expandable graphite is used as a battery material to convert the free energy change of the interlayer reaction of expandable graphite into electrical energy. Flame retardant expandable graphite is a good flame retardant for plastic materials, which is non-toxic, non-polluting and so on. It can be used alone or mixed with other flame retardants to achieve the ideal flame retardant effect. Expandable graphite in the same flame retardant effect, the amount is much less than ordinary flame retardant. Its principle of action is: at high temperature, expandable graphite rapid expansion, suffocating the flame, at the same time, the generation of graphite expansion material covering the surface of the substrate, isolated from the contact of heat radiation and oxygen, the interlayer internal acid release in the expansion, but also promote the carbonization of the substrate, so as to achieve good results through a variety of flame retardant.
Because expandable graphite has anti-damage ability and high expansion rate at high temperature, it can be used as an effective expansion flame retardant material in the components of fireproof package, moldable fireproof plugging material and fireproof ring, and can be used for fireproof plugging in buildings (for example, sealing building pipes, cables, wires, gas, gas pipes, holes through which air pipes pass, etc.).
The fine particles of expandable graphite are added to ordinary coatings, which can produce better flame retardant anti-static coatings and improve their high temperature and fire resistance. A large number of light non-combustible carbon layers formed in a fire can effectively block heat radiation to the substrate and effectively protect the substrate. In addition, because graphite is a good electrical conductor, the resulting coating can prevent the accumulation of static charge, used in oil storage tanks, to achieve the double effect of fire prevention and anti-static.
